This is my last blog that I HAVE to write, but as I type, I keep coming up with new ideas to write about. I love the idea of this blog/website. I want to make it grow and it makes me so proud of myself to have been added to the ODE website. At the beginning of the semester, I was excited to take this class. I wanted to be taught how to use technology. And I have, but I have also learned that like I will one day tell my own students, "take learning into your own hands". My professor has given me the courage to keep up with this blog and find new technology and fins ways to use it in my classroom on my OWN! It is scary, I have never considered myself to be of my "generation" because I do not know how to use a lot of the technology that my classmates and friends use. But I keep finding that I can learn quickly, and with practice, excel at this stuff. I just have to try. I really think this blog is going to help me. If I can learn about something and like it enough to want to share it with the world on this blog, I can possibly change the face of my own classroom, maybe even someone else's.
Sadly, this is the first class, maybe second, that I am actually sad is over. I enjoyed sitting and sharing ideas and stories with my classmates, and although we learned to communicate through Google, Skype, email, being blog buddies, and so on, I miss the face to face interactions that a classroom brings. To see and feel their excitement. To be in a room full of people that are as inspired to be educators as you are is invigorating.
To my Blog Buddy: Amanda, even though I will have a few more classes with you before we go off into the big bad world that is student teaching, I will miss the time spent building blogs together. I hope that we can stick together and keep our blogs connected. Maybe one day we can connect our classrooms like Mr. Holman has done with Mike.
I feel that as this comes to an end, I am happy with what I have learned and what I know I want to learn more about, Life, Technology, and Classroom Success!!!!
Stay tuned for more great blogging!
